Kangana Ranaut named brand ambassador for the World Para Athletics Championships in New Delhi
Actor turned politician Kangana Ranaut has been named the Brand Ambassador of the New Delhi 2025 World Para Athletics Championships, which will be held from September 27 to October 5 this year. This is the 12th edition of the sporting event and touted as the largest para sport event ever held in India.
The news of her appointment was announced by the Paralympic Committee of India as well as on Ranaut’s X page where she said, “It is a true honour to stand with our para-athletes and celebrate their indomitable spirit.”
Ranaut took oath as a BJP member of parliament for the state of Himachal Pradesh in 2024. She has also starred in a number of movies, including Queen and Tanu Weds Manu.
The New Delhi 2025 World Para Athletics Championships competition programme will feature 186 medal events (101 men’s, 84 women’s and one mixed) — 15 more than the last edition of the championships in Kobe, Japan.
This event marks the fourth time Asia will be hosting the World Championships — Doha 2015, Dubai 2019 and Kobe 2024. The event is organised by the World Para Athletics, a branch of the International Paralympic Committee.
